SAAB is in the midst of being bought over by Spyder. as i wrote on oneshift.com - it's a good opportunity for geely to acquire volvo's skills and technologies to improve on their products. i would expect a much better geely in the future.

What to do? All that bail-out money from the Obama Administration cannot leave Yankee soil to help the other european affiliated car companies of GM. And in order to 'trim-the-fat' to stay viable as well as to guarantee fat year-end bonuses for the executive group they did what they did. The workers' unions are very powerful... Guaranteeing the kind of working conditions they demand, inclusive of medical, welfare and etc benefits and salary. It's been a well-known fact that HR overheads alone far exceed operational and other overheads; IIRC, to the tune of up to 60% in GM and many other huge companies in Yankee Land.

As I said in another thread... other than the more stable conti makes(super-cars not included), time to off-load the run-of-the-mill ones... Korean cars no value my ARSE!

Volvo sale had been confirmed, will be under Geely from next year...... next year Geely can raise their price tag liao

all geely ck, mk, etc., owners can rebadge their rides to volvo liao... image upgrade

Geely will not change its name to Volvo. just like Proton don't change its name to Lotus. perhaps Geely can use some of Volvo technologies like the gearbox, engine, etc, to add onto Geely cars.

Not all mainland takeovers are bad... Take Lenovo for example.

Yup i really hope 1 day we can see Geely come out with something as gd as forte.
Looking at the gd side, asians are starting to rule its no longer the ang mos's world in technology.
