Found the Thule agent.

Said it cost at least $900 - 1000.

Have anyone installed or seen a Forte with a roof bracket?

how does it look?
functional wise, is it easy or inconvenient to mount bicycle on top?

Read somewhere the roof mount bracket causes drag, any may increase your FC. But by how much, donno.... So always recommended to remove if not using. But then, who so free take in take out Bracket / Mouting above the Forte Icon_lol

Anyway, if you only need to carry bicycle, why not check out those rack that tie to the boot? Saw those on the road all the times and I think can carry at least 2 full size mountain bikes right? Should be easier to mount and dismount, and maybe cheaper too.

Just a suggestion, cos I also considering getting one of those, but donno how much too.

I ended sticking with my Saris Bones 2 that cost a fraction of that price.

My friend has one of these on his Chevy hatch back...

Quite hard to use IMHO.

Need to use both hands to "bring up the bike" to the rack.

Adjust the bike with 1 hand onto the mounts before "clamping" it onto the bike holder.

There were times the bike felt like it was going to flip over and drop... but I guess my friend was used to it and was quite good @ it...

p.s. I'm 1.8m and my friend is about 1.75m...

Anyway, heard of stories where the owner forgot to remove the bike and went into a MSCP... the roof literally got ripped of partially...

A Saris bones should set you back about 200++

IMHO, worth getting.

But having said that... it's mounting and dismounting that's a hassle...
else... it's great!

bro,
i might just get the one like yours.

cheap and prevent the possibilities/risk of driving into mscp without removing.

any reason why you get this bike "saris" brand"? and which shop has got a lot of varieties to review? you mind?

Last time my neighbour hang his bike like that, someone crash into his backside, destroying the bike in the process. And the excuse that he made? "YOU PUT UR BIKE THERE CANNOT SEE THE BRAKE LIGHT"

1. It has a great resale value.
*See some of the bike forums and see what I mean.

2. It's adjustable to fit most cars... even hatch backs...
*Even though of recent, most have designed the same but this was one of the first.

3. It folds to a small package.

4. Lighter than most...
*The reliable brands that is...

5. Life time warranty.
Once, the hook had some problem and that part was replaced... no problem.

6. If I am not wrong... it's made in USA.

7. I dropped it once from a 1.5m height... it's still ok.
*Some slight scratches though.

8. It looks cool.

Smile

Hope this helps.

I had a saris bone too, but one time I drive too near to side of the filter lane at ECP, the rear wheel of my bike brush against the bushes as it's sticking out like the photo shown in the previous post.

Then another time I drove too fast with my hatchback, made a sharp "S" turn, can feel the rear of my car skid abit.

Generally you can feel that your car cannot go fast after carrying a bike. Bracket / Mouting above the Forte Icon_rolleyes

I got mine @ a Bike Shop @ East Coast... I think it's called Cycle Craft. The lady boss is very friendly.

The other place to buy is Chapter 2 Cycle @ AMK.

Errrmmm...

1. Sounds like a user problem rather than a rack problem.

2. If I am not wrong... the instructions did mention not to drive too fast with a bike mounted.

But I managed to hit about 100-110km/h @ ECP... You must have been going pretty fast then.

haha...yes...most are my skill problem Bracket / Mouting above the Forte Icon_razz Anyway...try to tie the wheels to the rack also if you getting one. Don't just use the bracket to hold the frame only. So tht the bike won't swing around when your car brakes. It also prevent the pedal scratch you bumper.
