Re: COE BIDDING 2nd-4th NOV
depend you bought your car at what price then they will bid at how hard for you. Bcos their profit will not be affected. ie those book over this weekend paid 65k for the car compare to 58k when soft launch. C and C earn more when they sell to 65k owner. bocs most of us never buy under guranteed COE scheme. If not they will ask ppl to top up to get their COE.

I'm in for this coming one and also 2nd attempt.. man... it like getting exam results!
BTW do you guys actually call your SE to check how much they putting in for you before the "auction" closes?

Re: COE BIDDING 2nd-4th NOV
no SE will not know as is up to the management of C and C to decide how much to put in for the client. any they have the option to opt out the client for this time COE. bocs can't have too many ppl bid if not the COE will be high. no obliged to submit for us everytime as they said in option is 6 time but those not state must bid everytime if got COE bidding

Thanks for the info gobal100... just feel so helpless (after missing the COE the last round).. having the fate of the COE on the hands of the C&C Management :S
Really worry about a hefty top-up!

Ah, thanks epig, keeping my fingers crossed! Just hope that COE doesn't climb too high! (Can't stop it from climbing with the quota cut.... :S)

Re: COE BIDDING 2nd-4th NOV
I think they will aggressively bid for bros who chose colours that are available cause they wanna clear stock first.
If the colour you want got no stock, most probably they will opt out or just bid a low amount for you.

Re: COE BIDDING 2nd-4th NOV
that time when i booked, SE told me I already locked in that price, dun have to pay more.
So they shouldn't be asking u to top up..

Re: COE BIDDING 2nd-4th NOV
You can check how much they bid for you using your IC on LTA site.
I booked my car on 25th Oct, so, my first bid should be this coming week as well.
It is to C&C advantage actually to bid early so that they can lock in the margin. The general feel is that COE is going to trend upwards, so, the earlier they lock in COE for their orders, the better.
As a buyer, I would certainly want my COE to be at highest so that it would give me slightly better resale.

Oh ya, Mac, thanks for reminding me about the OCOE LTA website! (The link is here https://ocoe.lta.gov.sg/, note that its generally available from start of COE bidding exercise, Monday, 12 noon till Friday, 6pm of the same week.
whitechoco: I think yes, they did lock the price, but that's the price they forecast based on the COE around that time that u booked and they will just bid around that "locked" COE amount for the so call 6 bids. If they still fail to secure the COE... they will just ask u to top up to meet the current COE benchmark amount. If not, they can refund you your full deposit and you can walk away the deal. But the thing is usually people WANT to get the car and so they will have to top up. Some guys would say, "Fine, I will look for another car", but the problem is, since the COE is already up, every other car in the market would have risen in price! So you are back to square one... putting in more money to get your ride. Yes the car company loss a deal if you walk away, but they would rather u walk away then pump in lots of money to get your COE and in end didn't earn much from the deal... (that's why they ask buyer to top up) and the losing end is always the consumer!
Its crap, but that's how it works for the local market

Re: COE BIDDING 2nd-4th NOV
alternatively you can top up another 2k for guaranteed coe
jeRrRKKKK- Junior Member
Re: COE BIDDING 2nd-4th NOV
i think 2k top up for guaranteed coe is a gimmick.. any one here ever heard 6 times bid all fail? they juz wanna earn ur "peace-of-mind money"..

actually this happened to many of the first batch of Forte buyer.......they booked when the COE was at $1K plus pre-launch 2K discount ...but when the COE raised to $4K, many of them were unsuccessful in their COE bidding and were asked to top up another 2K .....

Hmm.. Girl instinct. Koup price in sgcarmart is $63999 but mention that it is $65999. $2000 maybe for the confirm Coe.I guess.....
Think the nov 1st bid is high. ...more than $20000
