Center panel GPS?

Hi all,

Just wondering if any to be koupians opt for the center panel built in GPS+reverse Cam. How much did u pay for it?

i never opt but i did ask abt it when i looked at the forte sedan which has it at the roadshow.. was told that it costs 1k to add in the GPS.. dunno abt the reverse cam though

eh.. my SE asked me to get it outside. Cheaper and better. the reason for the 1k is just like everythng build-in to the panel only.

agreed.. i also would rather buy gps outside.. so much cheaper..

Actually read fr Kia sG forum, Some of the members mentioned they got it for only 500.. is it worth it? My SE told me he can do it for 800..Still considering

i think still ex leh... the only nice thing is built-in.. but how abt the features?

Actually i only like the built in part . Features wise, nothing fantastic, simple GPS with local map( i think cannot update map).

u wan a gps den get it at IT shows.. much cheaper and you can update the maps..

build in is classssss.... but dunoe how to update man...

well, if u wan class and you got money to burn den go for it.. will definately look nicer.. but i still prefer external GPS.. better quality and i trust the makers of the GPS.. in-built by whom ah?? anyone noes??

ok.. the central Panel GPS is not totally only GPS if not wrong.. It also serve as Reverse camera so which is an added features over a normal GPS unit..

If you guys had came across 2010 Luxury FORTE (http://forte.kia.co.kr/index.html), their rearview mirror will serve as reverse camera... So not sure if it come with KOUP or not..




and of cos there is always some special one out there like one of our bro (i believe he the 1st one ba) to have such item.. Can see the reverse monitor beside his rearview mirror?

The centre GPS + bulit in reverse cam was given free to me by my SE, should be quite easy to request for it.

get Garmin Nuvi then, prefer the portable type then built in.

hey godspeedyou, the garmin nuvi is the 1 with speaker that can tok on phone without ear piece? cause i got a friend using a 5" screen GPS that can tok on phone with a speaker cost around 400+ damn nice.

yeah, that is correct, and amongst the GPS's used by my friends, still Garmin. I can't tell you how good it is cos personally I don't use, but can bet my last penny on it.

Yup, those given to me by SE is the orignal built in GPS which also got reverse camera. Since it is free, i juz take loh

Just spent $379 on Garmin 1350, told by Garmin SE it's the latest. Anyone using it?? review???

i got it for 359 at challenger
the malaysian map nearly caused me to get into a head on collision man
it directed me onto a 1 way road without lampposts

changed to malsing maps... www.malfreemaps.com
hopefully this will be better

also don't know how to install POI, wanna install POI for ERP and speed cameras but no idea how to... heard that the gps is able to warn you about speed cameras a certain distance away from the camera...

The built-in GPS sucks man.. looks nice but the map is lousy.... it nvr tells u whr to exit until the last 500m.. by then u would have missed the exit on highway already. unless u already know whr to exit... n few times ask me to bang wall.... -_-"

ya really v lousy.... the reverse cam also... so so only... i rather not risk my rear bumper, lolx. even the cheapo shinco brand GPS is better i think. haiz.. but looks nicer than sticking those GPS stand la.. n no more wires around... better la..

Interesting.......maybe next MU, we can see how professionally done the map is, compared to our portable GPS loaded with amateur maps......

ok la.. still brings u to the destination la. just that it usually takes the longer route.. i just dun understand why.. haiz..

oh and u have to sacrifice the digital time for the GPS... now i dunno what time... esp when mins count in the morning... =(

Agreed is it nicely done up on the dash......so what is the damage you have pay for them? $500? $1K? or it comes with the car without any extra moolah to throw in?

Taking a longer route than what you expect depends on the quality of the maps installed, the settings in the device....so maybe you have to explore the device a bit to get the best out of it.

can d maps be updated?

I guess the maps can be updated....probably free for the first couple of times... later they want blood money.

explored already lei... horrible... sometimes abit berserk.. like for eg, drive halfway the may suddenly become so ultra tiny... gotta go setting change to 2D then back to 3D then can see the road again.... dunno hw to explain.. but since its free... cannot complain too much la. haha
