Electronic Stability Control Empty Electronic Stability Control

Post by Teh-O 9th September 2009, 3:03 am

Hi all,

Understand that the SX models come with ESC, and that there is a "on/off" switch for this near the steering wheel. Question is, why is there even an option to switch off? Does anyone know what disadvantage ESC might present that would make one switch it off if not needed?

Thanks in advance for enlightening me! Very Happy

Oh, explains my mindset... didn't think of drifting, hahaha! How true indeed!

From a fella whose pocket is possibly going to be burned with arrival of new ride - Does anyone know if using ESC will increase FC significantly? Understand if slightly increased electrical load will increase FC just a bit, but is it actually a lot of consumption involved? Anyone ever tested it out or is it just not possible (to increase FC with ESC) and I'm just bein silly?

My ESC light just on for no reason while traveling on bke. Press the button also no response. Sent back to repair. Technician said probably triggered by ABS.

you need to turn it on during wet days. if you car skids, the ESC enables you to regain controls of your car.

I thought ESC is on by default. No nd to manually turn on.
