EX vs. SX
Are there any distinctive difference between these 2 models other than the waiting time?

Re: EX vs. SX
depends whether u wan dual airbags, 4 disc brakes and the 17 wheel and the digital aircon...generally i felt the EX is equally good..

Re: EX vs. SX
to me.. SX ESC is the main different.. and 4k is well worth the diff.. so to other different is rather minimal to me..

The most important issue of a car is the engine running temp, Ex don't have a progressive temp indicator (except when its overheated) to monitor your engine running temp. So when you have an overheated engine, the indicate
flashes sign of overheating, its too late to take any precaution. But not the case for SX model you can monitor the sudden rise in temp and take immediate reaction. Its the first time in my life to see a car without a temp indicator gauge. My 1969 Morris Mini also have a tiny temp gauge.

Andi, my Toyota also do not have a temp gauge... when overheat, a red warning light will come out. I fitted a after market temp gauge instead....

hmmm mine is a ex but i have 4 disc 2 air bag EPS but no temp. guage which i think i stupid anyway i will be getting a after market 1 with is much more accurate =) so not much issue.. but for people who book now i think its better to get the sx which has so much more then the ex.

Re: EX vs. SX
Right Divine, getting to install after market is a bit troublesome, loss of time and aesthetically not nice to blend with the modern dashboard interior. Here's the car I use to do my driving test at the Maxwell old ROV HQ - the legendary Morris Minor also have a temp indicator.Divine wrote:hmmm mine is a ex but i have 4 disc 2 air bag EPS but no temp. guage which i think i stupid anyway i will be getting a after market 1 with is much more accurate =) so not much issue.. but for people who book now i think its better to get the sx which has so much more then the ex.

Re: EX vs. SX
Yap..... agree if Divine...... if is the old EX model like what some of us are holding...... I think is worth while...... but if it the new EX model ( although now got red thread and cushioned hand rest) I still think is not worth for the price now....... muz well save alittle more to get the SX model.......

Re: EX vs. SX
guys guys.... installing a temp gauge is not as simple as screwing the gauge on the dash and plug the cables.... radiator hose got to be cut, an adapter place between, and a temp prob installed.
if you are worried about warranty issues, don't fit one....

Haha , ya u can mod , but where are u gonna get the ESC ? Haha . And i think modding with the SX features will cost more than the cost of an SX . Just my guess .

Re: EX vs. SX
get what you need lah bro, get the stock as far as possible, modding if it is of not much use will only lower ur car's value in the end. For the marginal cost savings, it is better to get the model that suits ur needs.
like for me, i want the gadgets, so i paid for the SX. but if i don't want all the toys, the EX will suffice.
but i love gadgets lah.so no choice..

U need the ESC?
=> U everyday Kup Corner?
=> U travel to msia often? Going up cameron highland old route? Fraser hill? Genting?
If not.. u might be able to survive well without ESP.. (then again OTR so many cars without it still driving ok)
Telescopic steering?
The SX Meter Chio Chio accent
The Auto Dimmer Anti Glare rear mirror Cum bluetooth handsfree
17" rims
Climatic control.... Looks good. Bottomline also air-con ma
Reverse Sensor x4 with display.. Safety .. NIce.... not happy hoot Aftermarket one.. with Rear View camera...
Bonnet dont have the thick thick felt (not sure wat u call that) to dampen the noise) can get Aftermarket like the ones in Subaru TS... Sure ho seh
Wat else did i miss out....

Think even with the cost involve to do a model/color change, it's better to make the choice now cos you will own the car for at least 3 years.

Re: EX vs. SX
an outsiders pt of view :
SX just have more "creature comforts", not really worth $4k imo
- 17" is actually a big detriment in terms of FC and pickup. (in fact i think the 15" rims will get as good FC as honda jazz, with even better pickup)
- ESC does not improve the handling in any way, $ could be spent on coilovers
- those creature comforts like bluetooth, reverse sensor etc. - i rather spend $ at ICE shop and custom a system to your liking, that is different from all stock cars.
- after all these should have change left for e.g. 6months road tax.
( i would only miss the 2nd airbag in the SX. )

Re: EX vs. SX
Initially I was thinking of SX but ultimately EX will be sufficient.
I'm quite contented with my EX now cos seriously I feel that the 5K diff, you can use it wisely on what you really need or want for your EX.
Product gimmicks you see. This is how they earn money.
Well, safety definitely worth way more than money. Apart from the safety features of having extra airbag and 2 more disc brakes, in fact if you're a normal safety driver, you won't be relying so much on your brakes to stop in time and eventually your airbags won't come out for the next 10 years. It depends on individual actually. My few cents worth.
