Forte Fog Light Enquiry Empty Forte Fog Light Enquiry

Post by pessimizt 28th August 2009, 3:41 pm

i tested the fog light out yesterday night as someone PM me to see if fog light stays on even after keys are removed:

1) Without keys turn on fog light (nothing happens)
2) Without keys turn on headlight and fog light (nothing happens)
3) Start engine and turn on fog light (fog light on)
4) Start engine and turn on headlight and fog light (both lights on)
5) Cut engine and remove keys with headlight and fog light switched to "on" (fog light still on) ! Shocked

Wonder if it is supposed to be like this ? Any bros/sis to verify please ? Embarassed

hmm did anyone of u know that even if we off our engine we still have a bit of storage power staying in it and we can still scroll down our side window? but after awhile the power will be gone and if u are scrolling down the window it will stop half way thru... but thats if u leave it for some times... so i wonder if u r saying that even if ur engine cut off and keys are out still got lights hmm mayb its the storage power which supply the power to the lights...

Buzzer will sound when the key is still in the ignition when we open the door leh. Tried and tested (unlock door, open the door and insert key, the buzzer will sound off until i crank start the car)

buzzer doesnt sound when the light is on and open the door.

from what i know, once we cut the engine, all the lights should be cut off too (except for hazard light).

Not sure if I set to Lights auto-on. But I did noticed on several occasions that I forgot to turn off the ligths, it turn off automatically when I leave the car.

I only noticed that I forgot to turn off when I move off again. Cos the lights will turn on once I start the engine.

Even if you are using the normal mode, it will go off by itself and start engine it will turn on by itself. Tested on my ride.

I think this is much better than the sound warning. Just off the lights for me when u (the car) know I forgot to turn off the lights. Why warn me? Cool I think.

I tested on mine:

1) Headlights on and cut engine (all lights off)
2) Headlights + Fog light on and cut engine (fog lights still on !) Forte Fog Light Enquiry Icon_eek

But i did not wait for sometime and see if the light will go off shortly.

I still remember when I collected my ride, my SE told me, "The fog light is illegal in SG. So you should never switch it on!"

I was like, "Huh??"

Cabin will switch off auto when the doors are closed.

There are 3 ways (on, off, auto).

I mean, when you cut off the engine, if the cabin light is on, it will never switch off automatically, unlike the headlights.

I experienced it once, because I forgot to switch it off. Mad

I saw at LTA website last time regarding the fog light as part of the legal installations or customizations on the car. If LTA allows the installation of fog light on the car, I don't see why they would forbid us from using it.

If I find the website link, I will post it here...

If I am not wrong, it's for foggy days...
and that's why they are yellow....

So my question would be... since Forte has a fog light, why dun they allow Fortes to have white / whiter lights?

I think is becos the white light cannot shine long distance compare to stock one. White light is more bright only.

Exactly...

SGP streets are one of the brightest lit...

Do we need the distance?

If we need that distance... wouldn't the fog lights be enough?

Juz thinking out loud.

Another reason is because of safety. When is heavy rain we can see far vehicle head light from behind when look at the rear mirror. If car install with white light we can only see when it come closer from behind. Somemore rain is white and car head light also white how to see clearly from far.

The worst are drivers who think they are doing everyone around them a favour by driving with hazard lights on in a heavy downpour. Only God and the clown of a driver himself will know where he intends to go next. Sheesh!
