Reverse Sensor Dilemma

When I just ordered the car, I told the SE that I wanted a reverse sensor. He wrote it down.

Then the next day, I decided I wanted a reverse camera, and he agreed to give it to me too.

Fast forward to yesterday. I signed the Sales Agreement, and after that reached home then realise that the reverse sensor was missing. I asked my SE, and he said that since I have the reverse camera, I dun need the reverse sensor liao, since it's redundant.

Still thinking whether to demand it back, or just let it go?

Any advices from fellow KIA owners here?

Visual better than audio right?

Is it an overkill to have both? Anyway, is the reverse camera easily stolen or damaged?

Mainly I want to reverse sensor for the sound to let me know how near I am to the car or object behind me. Never had it before, so very new to it. Same like the reverse camera too.

i had stock reverse sensor in my ride... but 99% i still need to used my 'sight' to reverse... trust my sight rather than the 'tit-tit' sound.

sometimes the audio sensor might be better. Imagine if fog forms on the camera, then how?

Anyway, I will definitely ask for both since it's free. Mine is SX so it comes with reverse sensor. I bought the gps and it comes with reverse cam. Good to have more... u never know when u needed it.

Our members really dynamic.. from reverse sensor, reverse camera to MILF...

if reverse cam can fog up.. i think u can throw already. Cos.....
Its suppose to be SEALed .. and IP rated (if not wrong a decent one should have at least IP65).. so there is no way to get fog up.....

Do you mean to say yours come with the 5" LCD screen? If not what do u use to see if you got the reverse camera?

How come you all need so many devices to help reverse? Last time I took my driving test, the test car didn't even have power steering, one attempt can parallel park liao..

When is your last time tiny? Nowadays ppl are too dependent on gadgets to help instead of manual liao u know.

long long time ago lor..I still remember my driving test at ubi..1.3liter proton saga without power steering..hahaha My previous 2 cars also no reverse sensor or camera, just use agaration and experience lor.

My current car also dun have such nice gadgets.

So I was hoping for an imporvement. New cars, new gadgets. Anything to make things easier.

Mainly I need the beeping sound to tell whether am I too near to the car behind me at my work place's carpark. As for the reverse camera...

Well, so should I still ask for it, or should I just stick to the reverse camera?

anyway, dun rely too much on such devices... always check for your blindspots when reversing.

I did that once, many years ago when I just passed my driver's license. Lightly bumped a merc with my rental car. Of course, I drove off straight away after I checked that there was no damage. Went to another lot.

Anyway, if cars park rear to rear, it's still not too bad. Agaration still not too off. It's the worse when some parks head in first in the lot behind you. That's when it's difficult to agar, coz I won't be able to see their head. That's when, I guess, the reverse sensor comes in good use. Not sure how the reverse camera works though, coz I've never seen one before.

normally sx already comes with reverse sensor and u should have ask if ur se were to give u a reverse cam does it comes with gps and is there any screen at the location of ur clock area where the CNC gps comes with a reverse cam function...take both if u can.. such device helps some times...

Thanks for the info! I'll go question my SE. If dun, ask him to compensate me with the reverse sensors!!

That function you talk about comes with the PM though. Every time I get a PM, I thought some malware or spyware was being installed into my system.

My SE said he already sent the car to install all the things like, so cannot change. He said he can add it in after I get the car. After that, totally no reply from him liao. Like avoiding me like that.

I'm not very unreasonable mah. The only freebies I got were only Solar Film (which I top up 350 for PLat 50), 3M car mats and the BT carkit. A lot meh?

The other thing like reverse camera is part of the car leh. IU and number plate are part of the cost mah. It seems I didn't ask for a lot of freebies. So why he made it like it's so difficult to give me the reverse sensor.

I didn't ask for expensive things like gps + reverse camera, paint protection system, petrol vouchers, etc.

Maybe I'm too good to bully...

I got the Magentis, so things included are slightly different from the SX. And thanks for your kind words. Just hope I can get the car the way I want it.
