GPS Friction Bean Bag Mounts...
Friction Bean Bag Mounts on eBay... <- Click...
Because of the weight, S&H is usually a 'killer'...
Discontinued...
The original Garmin Bean Bag Friction Mount has been discontinued. The replacement is a bendable/mould-able silicon rubber based unit which doesn't seem too pliable to me for the curves on the dash of our Forte.
Goes for about S$60 at Perfect Watches & Electronics...
I managed to get a Gilsson bean bag friction mount and it works great! Kudos to Keigo for mooting the idea.
The Gilsson Mount... to be used in tandem with the original suction mount.

Re: GPS Friction Bean Bag Mounts...
Not as elegant as Keigo's original Garmin solution. But it's definitely very sticky and won't budge one bit not matter how hard I make a turn.
I've also tried it with a suction handphone holder and it works a hoot!

Actually, I am starting to think that this is not a good idea.
The idea of getting a holder that sticks to the windscreen is to make sure that the device does not fly towards you in case u jams brake.

I find the best place to mount GPS is at the top-right hand corner of
the windscreen. But buy a small screen GPS one will do. Very little movement required to see the GPS screen and at the same time not
losing sight of your driving.

Hi Bro Waypoint, no offence meant, however anything that is unsecured which includes the bean bag will be like missiles flying towards you or the passengers in the event of a "collision". My brother had this happen to him that caused him to be injured in the face which required a coupe iof stitches not to mention the swell that took a while to subside.
