Has any 1.6EX owner done the underbonnet insulation? If so, where did you get it done, what is the cost and is it effective? Tks.

$28 from Ubi Branch AutoBac. Done on my current Ride, yes it work well for past 4 yrs..
Very easy, just peel double-sided tape & press down. Don't cut but use whole piece. Just trim edges, cut holes for Bonnet Lever & drainage hole if any.
DIY on Forte EX asap when i take delivery late April.

Will post feedback after installation.

Just collected from my SE the bonnet insulation mat and fitted it in less than 3 mins (no sweat). Having driven this car for the last 7 weeks, I can really hear the different. I think this insulation mat filter-out the high pitch engine noise cause i feel that the engine pitch sounded lower and my cabin is quieter now. It fit nicely under the bonnet using the button type and look just like the SX type. Recommended.... bounce

The Bonnet area covered by Aluminium foil Insulator was very much cooler than the uncovered area. Very encouraging n will proceed to complete by tonight. Hope to post Pic here soon.

$28.50 @ AutoBac Ubi. The material is just like a Woolen Blanket on one side with double-sided tape for easy peel n stick on. While the opposite side is Aluminium foil.

1: The Wool silent the bonnet vibration.
2: The Refective Alu foil deflect the heat.

U need to get another Roll of Aluminium Tape with double sided tape @ $10 from HandiFix to seal gaps on joinst n the exposed Wool at edges. DIY give me lots of satisfaction n get u closer to yr Ride emotionally. Jus likes my traded-in Chevy...letting go was hard n sad as i hav Artwork on drum brake, wheel arch n insulation done too...All passionate DIY. Used 4 yrs in my Old Ride-Chevy AVEO5 n having struck in JB / Woodland chk pt jam for hours : Woolen type without Aluminium Foil. So far so good no Radiator or over heating problem in Chevy.

Now same material in FORTE is 3rd Day now. With Heat Reflector-Alumimium Foil, Engine Temp indicator in Dashboard-Supervision cluster to help me monitor Heat build up if any ? IMO the Radiator, Air flow, Engine Coolent etc shld b ok.

This product from AutoBac. A Japanese retailer.
