2.0 Forte obvious metal contraction noise under the car from the exhaust pipe


Dear members,

My 2.0 Forte has obvious metal contraction noise under the car from the exhaust pipe after parking my car.
According to C&C, KIA Korea said its normal???
Even all the cheaper car and lorries don't have this problem.
Was told by C&C their 2.0 test drive cars have this problem but NOT the 1.6 Forte?


Can the 1.6 and 2.0 Forte members kindly help me to verify if your car have this irritating metal contraction noise (like the zinc roof contraction noise in the night) OR NOT once you off the engine.

Yeah i also have after driving along hot road than you park at MCPS . you will hear ting ting under your car. I also have you can tried driving and park at open car park around afternoon no sound or evening.

bro mine also have (1.6ex) its normal even my mum's odyssey also have.. previous ride a merc also have think its normal

According to C&C 1.6 don't have this problem or is it not obvious.
I have many types of cars be it Jap or Continental no such noise.
Mine is really loud as I mentioned next to AYE and plane above some more.

Perhaps good for other 1.6 members to feedback for you to compare.

yep.. mine 2L and have this issue.. will get louder n louder.. C&C said its normal... i doubt so..

The ting ting ting noise is the sound of the thermostat contracting and releasing radiator fluid from the overflow tank into the radiator. It's normal one. My previous 3 jap cars all have it. It's just a question of how loud it is..give it a few minutes and it'll stop.

so its normal to have this sound coming from the undercarriage? mine pretty loud.. but ya.. it goes off when car is cooling down..

yup.. its very obvious the sound from underneath..

Yup, my 2L also have this problem. It's quite loud in fact. Can be heard when i'm 3 cars away (at mscp at night) C&C says it's normal as usual lor.

It is not a critical safety issue but we are driving a 2.0 car and the same 1.6 forte they don't have this problem. We are driving a car and NOT a heavy truck which don't even have this irritating noise that is so obvious that any passerby or friend can hear many cars away.

yes. My 2.0SX also have the ting ting sound. Very clearly once off engine

mayb it's normal already for me w tis ting ting sound cause my BMW bikes Also have tis sound after off engine.

better drive to known workshop and ask. Sometime C&C tech so kan ciong like we are wasting their money. This and that ok. Now every each service, I check the host to water tank. First service loose off after 2k ride. Now regret take the guarantee. We don't even see if the tech actually check what they said. Prefer go to small workshop and you can stand there looking at what they do.
