I was at the Singapore Custom last nite , while moving off, a Toyota Camry came from my left and its right mirror scratched my left mirror. He gave me a hard stare. Seeing that there is no scratches on my mirror, I moved off.

If I had installed Auto fold mirror, it it damage the motor if the side mirror is forced backward by another car / motorcycle?

think it depends if there is dent into the metal works. if yes.. then... a bit tricky liao.. else at most you retouch the paint work lo..

but btw..

do you guys think our forte shell is a little soft compared other make? no complains.. but just when anything leaf, branches etc hits its rather loud.. (heart pain lo..), i accidentally touch my fam car's door to my forte (really just touch nia..cause park side by side..) and it caused a mark!!!..

But I'm not too sure about the exterior/door body panels, though... The first ding I got on my ride was from a couldn't-care-less bugger who hitched a ride and caused it with the door's edge of a 2008 Honda Accord. As much as it hurts to see that ding every now and then, my consolation comes from seeing the also very obvious distortion of the edge where the point of impact was on that Honda.

"The body is a monocoque type which makes use of a lot of high tensile
steel (>63%) giving it excellent torsional rigidity and strength.
It’s designed to score a 5-Star rating in the US NHTSA NCAP tests. The
body shell has a “ring” like structure around the centre pillar area,
right where the seat mounts are. There’s also an ultra high-rigidity
steel (120kg grade) side sill, about 4 times the tensile strength of the
old LD Cerato/Spectra!"

but i do think most japs make too... mine starts with more and more dents.. i do usually choose parking lot to avoid all these.. but its only matters of time.. sad..
