Adding CNG tanks to your car Empty Adding CNG tanks to your car

Post by JayJ 23rd May 2009, 10:59 pm

Anyone intending to add in CNG tanks into your cars? ( since the boot is really spacious )
Some questions to the CNG,
- is it really cheaper in terms of fuel used to move the car? ( heard that CNG has lesser power and will tend to rav up _
- is serangoon north CNG kiosk in operation?
- any pros and cons of CNG?

Thanks

what about the price /litre of CNG? Most CNG websites are not updated. Is it really true about the loss of power when using CNG?

so actually the better consumption rate has already made up for the rav-ing of your car due to the loss of power?
So in other words, its almost the same as using petrol?

My fenz bought a 2nd hand Harrier that came wif CNG but since after using it for the 1st top up and he stopped pumping CNG anymore.
Lost of power and time taken to go and search for the station, its "leychey" ..he say, unless the petrol shoot up again then he may pump CNG again..

your ecu will be replaced with their OEM ecu which will void warranty. Sometimes car will jerk, bad power output. CNG tank weighs as much as you, which means you are carrying an invisible passenger around at all times(extra weight=bad FC). Registered as CNG vehicle cannot remove tank in future if you regret later.

Decide carefully

The added weight of CNG to the overall car weight.
Your FC is greatly discounted. .not to mention power...
Imagine carrying another adult in ur car all the time when u are only one in it......ghastly feelin sia.. .HAHAHH

the point is we do not have a strong network of CNG stations like M'sia, everytime go pump CNG is Hello Kitty Queue.. I see my fren's GF family car Actyon every 200km go pump..... WTF.....
The fluctuation of the selling price.... pretty much close to Diesel...
If you added up everything.. will u think you'll Convert it now? Maturity level is highly questionable.
If Forte come out with Hybrid.. then HOSEH LIAO...
CNG.......Adding CNG tanks to your car 078 for now

my 2 cents....tots

Agreed. Somemore on rainy days, the CNG station will disable all pumping kiosks for safety reasons (fear of lightning sparks). You won't see this on petrol stations.
