above 1.5k rpm!? tt's VERY high.. hope u r talking about warm-up idling (which probably last for 15sec) n not normal neutral idling..
If not, do send in ur car for mechanic to adjust ur idling rpm lower

Dear all,

When my car is idling, I do hear some rattling noise from the exhaust when I am at the back of the car. It sounds like the exhaust shaking/trembling.

Are yours quiet? Thanks!

I guess the rattling noise from the exhaust applies to all auto & manual forte. Those who have change their exhaust tip, maybe you will like to share with us whether you will still feel this rattling sound.

Thanks for sharing. I am SXA as well. Will ask them to check during 1K servicing.

I went 5K servicing on Fri - when I asked the service technician if the idling rpm could be adjusted lower, they said that it is not possible to adjust as this is preset by the factory.

His advice was to let the vehicle run idle for 3 min at start up before moving off (abt 1.5K rpm). It should drop to abt 600rpm after that.

Heard that nowadays cars dun need much "idling" time before moving off. Just make sure you dun let it go beyond 2k rpm due to better engine technology. Dunno how true. In any case, many of us park at MSCP, by the time u turn and turn out of your car park, it may be 5min already.

For those who let your car warm up, usually how long is your normal waiting time.

My current car i just drive off straight away after 10-20 sec.

me also drive off after about 10 sec (why waste petrol)....so long dun ram the engine hard for the next few mins......
