Considering 2nd hand Forte
Dear all,
I am considering this 2nd hand Forte at sgcarmart.
http://www.sgcarmart.com/used_cars/info.php?ID=56473&DL=1016
Would like to ask a few questions
1) Anyone knows if there's any problems with this car?
2) What was the price for this car when bought new during Mar 2009?
3) What accessories should come with a new Cerato Forte? I bought from Mandai motors before and was pissed they didnt give me any manual or accessories that supposed to come with the car.
4) What would be a fair price to pay for this car? The listed price is obviously much too high.

Was some other car. I bought a conti from them about 3 years ago. Well their service really wasn't too bad, so I don't mind buying from them again.

1) Don know.. new car bound to have some small issues.. even my 3 mths old forte is going in service centre frequently.
2) If i am not wrong, based on the reg date. The car shd be priced at $43999 when launched at promo price. One of our mod is driving his forte at this price.
3) Manual, ipod charging cable, 2 pairs of keys and remotes etc..
4) No comments on prices.. rather buy a new one at 5k more.. at least the interest is lower and in the long run won't regret it as u bought a new car!
my 2 cents advise.

No point, considering the price is so high. Get a new one. At least u can choose the colour you like, SX or EX, 1.6 or 2.0, gift etc etc.

Re: Considering 2nd hand Forte
Simplified calculation
The Car : $50800 - $4460(coe) = $46340
New Forte : $53999 - $15019(coe) = $38980
Interest rate for used car around 2.98%, new car 2.49%.
I guess these few simplified figures would give u an obvious choice.

New Forte : $53999 - $15019(coe) = $38980

Re: Considering 2nd hand Forte
But we forget that the longer you drive, the more you lose with a higher COE. Ultimately 3-4 years later, the car with the 4k COE will become a better deal than a new car at the moment.
I think we must consider all cars depreciating assets, so it makes sense to choose the car with the lowest rate of depreciation. COE factors in strongly to yearly depreciation of a car.
Anyway, I will not pay more than 40k for the car.. but I doubt they are willing to go this low.

i think u will have to wait a couple of years before u get to buy a used forte at less than 40K unless it is a OPC...
