Windscreen CRACK?!?!

Hey bros out there,

Have you all encounter the same problem. Today I was driving at night, then saw my windscreen got a silvery line. Tried to use my wiper to remove it, but it can't. And later when I parked my car, I can feel a crack. It's from the bottom crack to the top, about 10-12cm. The line is obviously not by stones.

1. Could it be heat and rain? (hot/cold)
2. If I go C&C, will it be free? or must pay? how much?
3. Is it under warranty?
4. Is it normal?!

wah... koup also!? siao liao, what do they have to say this time!.

should not have a problem with the Koups, as heard when I went servicing. The guy also told me the problems mostly rectified.

It is disappointing to see Koup suffering the same issues as Forte. Hiaz, when can we stop worrying about our windscreen cracking without reason.

Bro, pardon me to sying this...or it could be due to the pic......the line of the crack look a bit "too straight"........

The windscreen cracks for the Forte are generally on the drivers side of the windscreen just above the ERP IU. In the case of the Koup, right in front of the dash?

Hmmm...

But if you have been following this crack issue... They always start from the edge of the glass sheet... Obviously a structural rigidity/flex issue in my layman guess.

i believe CnC already replaced more than hundred of windscreens and solar film (FOC-warranty claim) on the Forte in the last one year....

can you look around see if you've got pieces of glass near the crack?
i've heard a loud piak before and found pieces of glass but mine's at the rear area

So sad leh.. Cracks still persist even on other forte model..

could be somebody else hit the road divider behind me and his car's windscreen shattered and the glass ended up at the rear of my car

but till today no notice of hit and run so i've no idea how i got the loud piak sound nor where the glass came from

Update:

Went to ubi Service centre today and I asked around. It is indeed the first case for Koup (sad). A guy told me Ubi don't have stock for windscreen and I should try Pandan (WTF?! LOUSY~!)

Went to Pandan, the service guy also shock to see Koup has this prob. He told me most Fortes have cracks from the side. But my Koup is from the bottom. But he assured me it's under warranty. And since I went in the afternoon, and they can only bring the windscreen part in at 3pm, he advised me to bring in my car only at night. Then I told him my solar film is ownself do one, how? And he promised to give me rikecool solar film though I didn't get it from C&C for free. (YAY!)

I hope so too. And that day when the crack happened, my carplate number open (opp direction). But I didn't buy! HAHAHA!!

Bro don't be too sad, even when my cousin bought his civic recently, got this problem after a few weeks drive, let's hope it's a one off case. (Great that the solar film is free )

Yes sis, my dad driving the same car as my cousin but so far so good for 1 yr plus, so it's just a one off case. (Hope Koup too )

Yes, cnc should give a reason for the crack, especially when it happened to so many fortes. Hopefully this is the first and only case for koup.

Bro, I notice you parked your car at the top level of MSCP. Do you always park it under the sun? Your crack increased at night. Is it very cold at your area during night time?

they have ready stock ? alamak so actually they are really prepared incase koups also have windscreen cracking

bro, Ur analysis sounds logical. But before the crack happen I was at toapayoh. Parked under hot sun. Den at night when I leaving, I saw the crack. But it's still possible that it's because day in day out, hot cold hot cold den like that. My place quite ulu. Sometimes when I drove out, temp as low as 26. But, aren't Kia from Korea? It's colder than us!? Haha.

I have just returned from LK service centre (1000km service).
I asked about the windscreen.
The SA, the TA (technical adviser) and the Executive who were attending to me about an unrelated matter (wheel alignment) said that Koup has no cracking problem.
They even showed me the special symbol (thermometer?) on the bottom corner to emphasise the point that the Forte and Koup screens are different.
Of course I immediately scolded them and said that they were talking nonsense as I knew that there was one watermelon Koup being repaired in PG today because of a cracked screen.
Should have seen their faces.....for once I surprised them and not the other way around.
