From the time you booked to the actual date of delivery, how long did you guys wait for the delivery of your KOUP?
How long is your wait?
Hi guys, I've actually quite astonished by the waiting time for our new ride. Cos recently I just booked one, and the proposed delivery date is way beyond what other makes are able to promise. But of course I know its gonna be well worth the wait la. In any case, I'm just curious about the waiting time for you bros who collected your ride.. therefore I'm hosting this poll to graphically look at the waiting time..
Hope to garner some support. Thanks!

Re: How long is your wait?
around 2-3 mths? i haven't gotten mine as well...
the problem here is the cars are still in production and many booked even before production has started... are u comparing to cars which have been around for a while which dealers have stock sitting in their warehouse?

"Kia Motors warns of a large loss - January 18, 2010
Kia Motors said it could suffer a massive loss after negotiations with union workers failed over the weekend, which is expected to heighten the intensity of an employee strike.
Kia, the second-largest automaker in the country and the leading affiliate of Hyundai Motor, said yesterday that it expects losses of 1 trillion won ($890.4million) when factoring in the impact of the strike.
The automaker failed to reach an agreement with its labor union late Friday night. Union workers are now expected to go on strike starting today for four hours during the day shift and six hours at night. Since Monday last week, union workers have been on a partial strike, leaving the production line for two hours during each shift. In negotiations, which began on Dec. 30, the company offered workers bonuses that amount to 300 percent of their basic wage payments in addition to a 4.6 million won payment.
However, the union wants a deal similar to one at Hyundai Motor, which offered workers roughly 15 million won in exchange for a non-strike agreement. Kia claimed that last year it suffered losses worth 860 billion won and that production of 48,000 units was delayed due to strikes."
A random search on Kia motors gave the above news. Bad news.. bad bad news..
Corgel - Yeaa.. that's what im looking at. Normally for these production line if demand exceeds supply by such a big margin, most prolly mgt shud maybe heighten the production pace lor. This is starting to sound like the A380/B787 delays. lol
Anyway I think also good la. though supply is low demand goes up, prices definitely will go up. Not good for new bros who wanna get Koup, but prolly good for our resale value in the future..
Food for thought..

Re: How long is your wait?
hmmm..i seriously hope our SE don't use this strike as an excuse for any delay, especially for those who booked in the sep-oct period. we put in our order 3 mths ago, there's no way for a recent strike to affect our delivery..haiz..

haha..13 weeks u mean. 13 mths.
i think the most eager ones will be those like me, who booked slightly after first 50 at the pre-launch..i.e. ard october period.

Re: How long is your wait?
actually i wonder, wud they increase their reserve bid as time progresses? any bros have COE bidding experience?
D'Menace- Newbie
Re: How long is your wait?
There is quite a number of bids to submit during bidding day.
Normally, max two bids for each buyer are submit in the 3rd day last 15 mins before 4pm closing.
Depend how agressive the other bidders during this time.
I think next Coe should be ard 19-20k.

Re: How long is your wait?
Any body never got Coe after 6 bids?
This seldom happen I guess. Damn suay.
Normally,SE will ask for top up if still can't get at 5 bidding.
So if suay suay happen and I don't want to top up.
Then what happen ???

Re: How long is your wait?
Depends on their back log quota.
If c&c able to subtain this number.
They will not use their reserve bid.
As mention, also need to see other popular brands.. Honda...Toyota... Madza.
And the number of bidders in cat E as well.
One word---LUCK..

Already have bro here that wait for 4 mths.

Re: How long is your wait?
I think it come in batches. Next Batch shld be mar/apr.
The delay may be due to the strikes in Korea Kia production but
resolve last Friday.
I had sign in paper that I need to surrender my old car by march.I
need a car for my job. If the new car is not receive, I will need
to stress my SE on this..

Dude probably u can try asking for a 'courtesy car' from ur SE? I know of some established brands that do that, not sure for Kia though. Worth giving it a try i think

Booked 16 Oct and still waiting. spoke to SE 5 times after penned the booking. before that, saw the car at vivo and expressed interest. after vivo till booking, SE called almost every other day to update and sell. after booking, all the other 5 calls were initiated by myself. Not once did the SE call. the 5 calls made were: 1. to ask if COE secured, 2. inform SE that bidding for car number was successful, 3. to ask the brand and model of the fitted GPS, 4. check if mud flap was standard(since test drive and show room cars did not have it). and 5. to ask for the delivery time of the car. Only and only during my fifth contact with the SE (that was on the 16 jan - 3rd month anniversary of the booking) did I asked about the delivery of the car. The SE retorted and requested that I stop bugging her on the delivery of the car. so much for service!!
